Who are the best script consultants?

As a UK script consultant I get asked all kinds of questions about scriptwriting and my career as a BAFTA shortlisted and Royal Television Nominated scriptwriter.   The questions usually fall into this order:

What was it like writing Alfie and Kat from EastEnders?

I grew up (or was at Uni) during the period you wrote Hollyaoks – when The McQueen Family and Warren Fox came into the show, and suddenly Hollyoaks become the BEST soap – how did you do that?

You first film starred Ewan McGregor? How did that happen?

And when I’m speaking to new scriptwriters (I like to help them) I get asked ‘Who are the best script consultants?’

Well, in answer to the last question I’d have to say me (of course).  Here are the reasons why:

Script consultant UK fees

First off, my fees are affordable:

  • I charge £50 to do comprehensive coverage on a short film (under 20 pages)
  • £80 on a TV script (up to 65 mins)
  • £120 on a feature film script.

These are cheap prices, especially when you realise that I personally read most scripts sent in for reports – there are very few other services where your script gets read by a BAFTA shortlisted scriptwriter with credits as a scriptwriter across all the UK networks.

The most comprehensive script reports on the market

The second reason is I’m reliably told that my script reports are THE MOST comprehensive on the market.

My reports include a detailed page-by–page read of your script (with notes and suggestions on how to improve your work) as well as detailed ‘business aspects’ advice, including:

  • Where to send scripts in the UK
  • Advice on agents and how to approach them
  • Actual war stories about the reality of being a working scriptwriter in the UK

I even break down how the UK TV and Film business actually functions (or doesn’t).  Most STANDARD reports from me are OVER 20 pages long.

So, when I get asked ‘Who is the best script consultant?’ that’s why I answer ME!
