Current project

With Leeds United within a point of Huddersfield (Hello James) near the top of the Championship, and one more script report left to do this weekend before I return to the large script writing project I’m working on, I’m taking this blogpost as time to reflect before I delve into the biggest script writing project I’ve taken on in a few years.

I’m about to take three novels, and turn them into a trilogy of screenplays, the stories are all connected and they follow a group of characters over a period of years. I’m going to start at the beginning with the first book, and I can’t wait to get into it.

Myself and the producer have done a lot of work on bringing the trilogy together, working out larger themes and re-plotting some of the later novels.

So, with a detailed storyline in place I’m ready to start the process of writing the scripts. I’ll start next weekend, and I’m aiming to have the first script finished before I go off on holiday to Greece in May.

When I say I’ll have the first draft ready, what I mean is that I’ll have written a first version, sat on it for a few weeks, and then rewritten it again, before I even show it to the producer. A first draft is always a second draft really, with some time to think and reflect in-between.

So expect me to be off the radar for a while, the blogposts may slow, but I’ll be back around May to tell you of my progress. Please feel free to get in touch regards work offers in meantime, I’m always willing to listen to people who need a script writer for hire.

For the next few months I’ll be writing furiously…
