I specialise in writing scripts and screenplays for clients who contact me. Some of this work is done as a ghost writer for hire (basically without credit). Self published books vary wildly in quality – from the people who have done the whole thing themselves to people who paid a professional ghost writing company to have the story written up properly and the book designed well, and printed on top quality materials.
Of course, for most people it’s better to pay for a professional ghost writer service, especially when it comes to books.

By far the best company for self publishing these types of ‘life story’, ‘memoirs’ or ‘true story books’ is a UK firm called StoryTerrace – this company gets rave reviews from its own clients and many of the books it has published have also had great feedback from the general public and in the media – indeed, I first heard about a StoryTerrace book while watching Sky News – even legit authors would be jealous at some of the press pick up these premium ghost written books receive, have a read of the article in The Times all about StoryTerrace (there is a pay wall) or this in-depth coverage in GQ Magazine.
Of course, the better the book is written and presented – the more likely the book will spike the interest of a film company or broadcaster – and often, having a book professionally ghost written is better than hiring a script writer for hire as legally, a published book is more likely to get read by a production company (or broadcaster like Netflix or Amazon) than an unsolicited screenplay, this because of very sound legal reasons.
