A lot of script writers at the start of their career might think that script writing is a goldmine – well, it is – if you get advice from a professional.

If you’re looking to make a living as a script writer, a good living, and you’re based in the UK – the soaps (whatever you think of them) are good training ground and a script writer can earn in excess of £100k per year as writer on Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks or Eastenders.

In fact, the only form of writing I can think of that pays better than Coronation Street is writing ransom notes…

I myself spent a good ten years on the soap circuit writing for Emmerdale (Bafta shortlisted and Royal Television Society nominated) Hollyoaks, Family Affairs and Eastenders – I wrote the episode where ‘Alfie’ first told ‘Kat’ that he loved her. You can find apartial list of my script writing credits here

As a leading UK Script Consultant and UK Script Doctor as well as my own original projects I also help producers, directors and writers knock their scripts into shape. In the past decade I’ve helped filmmakers from all over the world with script advice – including work on films starring actors such as Harvey Keitel – I often work un-credited and word is out in the film industry that I’m a pretty good UK Script Doctor.

If you’re looking for help from a Freelance Script Consultant – for either script coverage of script reports or you need the help of an expert UK script consultant to knock your screenplay into shape contact me for a chat on matcoop23@yahoo.co.uk

For now, check out my showreel as a script writer below – these are just a few snippets of the work I’ve done in the past…
