What Mat did next!

I’m just back from a great Holiday in Greece and ready to crack on with some script writing, filmmaking and blogging (I’ve also got an exciting project up my sleeve which I’m keeping under wraps for now).

While I was away I had a couple of people contact me for my script consultancy services and I’ve had a couple of nice script writer for hire  jobs come in.

As loyal readers know, before I went away I finished a series of 100 blogposts on films you must see (while trying to avoid the obvious). So, the question is now what do I blog about going forward? To be honest, I’m so passionate about film that it was an easy decision to continue to write about one or two films a week going forwards – interspersed with blogposts about what I’m up to with my own work.

While I was away I caught up with the first series of Toast of London, a funny sitcom written by Matt Berry and Arthur Mathews. I loved the first series, when I got home I watched the second series and felt it lost some of its spark.

However, the first series is definitely worth watching. There’s a clip below set in a voice over studio where the main character spends the majority of his time. Every scene in the studio is comedy gold to rival Alan Partridge.

Matthew Cooper has written for most of the UK soaps, including writing episodes of Emmerdale, Eastenders, Hollyoaks and Family Affairs. Matthew was winner of the Lloyds Bank Channel Four Film Challenge, the Oscar Moore Screenplay Prize and has been BAFTA shortlisted and Royal TV Society nominated as a television writer. He’s been a script consultant and script writer for hire for over 20 years. You can find some of his broadcast credits on the IMDb. You can get in touch with Matthew on matcoop23@yahoo.co.uk
