Holiday Road

Okay, I’ve been fairly busy the last couple of months on script writing projects that have come to me through this website. As a professional, broadcast script writer for hire I get writing work from all parts of the world. For the last couple of months I’ve been working on a really interesting project set in my home town of Leeds, West Yorkshire.

After a hectic couple of months I’m winding down to my holiday in May, when I’m going to my favourite Greek island – Kefalonia. I love writing that much, that it’s not unusual for me to take a small part of a writing project away on holiday with me. I won’t be doing that this time. Instead, I’ll be soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a Mythos beer on the beach.

Kefalonia itself has many stories to tell and of course was the setting and shooting location of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, a film based on the famous book by Louis de Bernières. The film isn’t that good, but it does have its moments and its fans.  For me, it’s worth watching for the lovely scenery on the island.

Other lovers of Kefalonia include Simon Pegg who travels there just about every year – and of course the cult comedians The Chuckle Brothers live on the island and even sometimes rent out their property to lucky holiday makers.

So – it’s holiday time for me, but I’ll be back soon with more blogposts about the projects I’m working on as well stuff about films, movies and digital stuff that interest me. Keep checking back – Yamas!
