Too cool for script school – a rare chance for script writers to see a table read of a screenplay
Wow – this is great! As a script writer for hire, UK Script editor and UK script consultant I love a good table read, and it’s a rare thing to find a proper table read of a screenplay anywhere online, but below is a starry, Hollywood player reading of a script by Cameron Crowe – Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Of course ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ was made into a cult film back in the early 80s. But to help raise funds for Covid, a group of Hollywood actors got together to read the script afresh – the only member of the original film’s cast present is Sean Penn.
Fast Times, hasn’t aged well from a political correctness stand point, but it’s still a very funny and warm film, that paints an accurate picture of the time and place it was set.
The table read is fun (Julia Roberts gives great table) and it’s good example for screenwriters to watch, to see how this works.
