Directing my first feature film – Markham (2019)

Over the next month or so I’d recommend that regular readers keep an eye on my Twitter Profile – although at this stage I’m not even sure how much time I’ll have to Tweet, as I’m about to embark on a two week shoot directing my first feature film (Markham) which is being shot in Leeds and Staithes in early December.

The budget is small and the script (which has been in gestation for over 20 years) is just going through the very final tweaks now.

Markham is a Lovecraftian Horror piece inspired by reading The Shadow Over Innsmouth as a teenager. Hopefully the film will be atmospheric and scary, but rest assured however it ends up there will be enough blood and gore to satisfy even the late, great Chas Balun.

The film will most likely end up available for online streaming on Amazon.

I’ll update readers before Christmas about how the shoot went, and I’m planning regular blogposts about the whole process once I’ve got the footage in the can.
