As a UK script consultant I’m really busy at the moment with two very interesting (and fun) projects. Both scripts I’m working on (or about to start work on) are for the US market.
The first script is an exciting high concept thriller, a real classic Hollywood script, sci-fi, big star parts, action and drama – a real popcorn flick that could play alongside Armageddon or Con Air.
The second piece of work which I’ll move onto after that is an American World War 2 story. Based on real events this is a hard hitting portrait of woman who did wrong the thing. It’s a great part for an actress and a story that will take all my skills to realise.
The American film industry really is the ‘world’ film industry. So it’s no surprise that as a script writer for hire I get a lot of work from America. Or for scripts aimed at the US market. I enjoy working on them (and my BAFTA nomination always helps to open doors).
